We are located in western North Carolina, at the southern end of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Forests, surround us with the Cherokee National Forest to the west, the Chattahoochee National Forest to the south, and the Nantahala National Forest to the east.
While here at Pine Creek Cabins you can wander our nature walk, barbeque, cool off in the pool, or just relax on the porch and listen to the wind. Our pool is only 1 of only 3 pools in Murphy and we have a limited number of rooms making it semi-private.
The area offers endless outdoor adventures for all ages and all tastes. From hiking to shopping, a short list would be:
For those staying for more than just a weekend consider a daytrip. A two hour drive will get you to Chattanooga, Asheville, Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, or Atlanta. An hour drive and you can get lost in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

- Ride the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad
- Picnic and swimming at the waterfall at Fires Creek
- Gem Mining for rubies and more
- Hike a National Forest, literally thousands of miles of trail
- Rafting the Ocoee river (location for the 1996 Olympics)
- Antiquing, endless antiquing
- The Cherokee Indian Museum
- Helen GA, the German Alpine village in Georiga
- Tri-County Racetrack, dirt track racing in NC, nuff said
- Take a glider ride in TN
- Mountain Biking Tsali Recreation Area
- Rent a boat, explore the mountain lakes and their TVA dams
- Swim in the Ocoee river, when the river is turned off of course
- Harrahs Casino, Cherokee NC
- Tubing at, Helen or Deep Creek, or Pappy’s Riverwalk
- Flea Markets
- Climb the Alpine Tower at NOC, more than just a rock wall
- Take a jet boat ride on the Little Tennessee River
- Ride the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway
- Visit Clays Corner, home of the annual New Years Opossum Drop
- Golf, many courses to choose from
- Hike the Appalachian Trail, or just a piece of it
- Visit Brasstown Bald, the highest point in GA, see the museum
